melisande has indicated that this thread is about India
About hotels- I have no idea. But there are hotels for all kinds of budgets.
Monsoon is peculiar to India. Unlike in UK, here,In India in general & Goa in particular, it rains heavily from July to October. It is said that Goa is left for their natives in the monsoon season, bereft of travelers. But some say that It is in monsoon that Goa is at its best. If you like the sun over you, winter is best. November to January. Summer is too hot and humid. But travelers come both in summer and winter avoiding monsoon period. Many travelers stay for longer periods. A touch of Portuguese is left behind the erstwhile rulers of Goa. Good beaches, Old churches, serene atmosphere. Yo will enjoy.
hey, melisande there are two sides of Goa. North and south. South has most of the 5-star hotels with private beaches
whereas the north has a lot of small hotels. So basically it all depends on your motive of visiting Goa.
I would suggest you to try both places. try out the Ramada hotel in south goa. they have a huge hotel with a private beach and amazing view. And North Goa go to places like Vagator, Anjuna, and Morjim. also,
Get a Lonely Planet guide to Goa. Check on the internet and you can download a PDF.
