So i'm a 19 year old New Zealand guy and recently stopped studying at uni(*Cough*dropped out*Cough*) and started casually living and working with family and got a little bit of money and decided to travel and work in the UK to get a non-touristy travel experience(if that makes sense). My mother was born in England so i can get dual citizenship to work and i have relatives(i haven't even met) that i could visit and stay with although not for six months. I have just over 3500 NZD which is about under 2000 pounds, to get me there and extra for living until i get an income.
London is probably the best place to find a job. Britain is coming into the winter months now so you do not want to be isolated or travel too far for your job.
Accommodation try:

Internet search for:
find a job london
will give many sites. London is quite expensive so try and get a job soon.
Well if you can get a UK passport then there is no problem with staying for 6 months obviously. The only real questions are where to go and what to do for work.
While London may appeal to some people, I would suggest somewhere with a smaller, easier to get to know your way around in. Edinburgh would be my first choice for that but no doubt others have their own favourites.
Work without any real qualifications and as a 19 year old, puts you in competition with all the other unqualified young people in the UK, of which there are a great many.https://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/feb/22/youth-unemployment-jobless-figure
You might want to consider getting some kind of a qualification before heading out. Even doing a 'barista' course would put you ahead of the pack.
