Hey all,
me and my wife are going to be travelling from cairns to Sydney in nov/dec for about 6weeks. We have settled on travelling by camper but are struggling to make a decision of which company to choose. We are leaning towards the Spaceship camper but are worried that it may be a little bit small, without any 'living space'. Does anyone have any experience travelling in the spaceship? Was it a positive experience?? Would you recommend it??

We have a similar plan, 6 weeks east coast.
The cost of hiring seems a lot, we are scanning ebay and gumtree for a bargain, well hopefully a bargain.

Since you gonna travel for 6 weeks, I would rather aim for a Hitop if your budget allows you to. It is a big difference if you can stand straight in the back or if you always have to duck down... I haven't been traveling with spaceship, so I'm not sure how comfortable they really are, but I just can't imagine myself living in one of these for 6 weeks.
I would stay away from Wicked, I had some bad experience with them, but I had a nice trip with my Hitop from Travellers Auto Barn earlier this year. Maybe you want to consider hiring a car or stationwagon and get a tent or stay in hostels/B&B? It might be cheaper than renting a campervan during high season.
Also you should be aware that it's the rainy season in Queensland, and you might have some serious issues with rain and storm... just talked to a friend of mine in Brisbane, and the streets are flooded...
