hi there
Hi Bry,
there is recently been a series on Channel 4 called 'My Family's Crazy Gap Year' which was really good. On one episode, a single mom and daughter went on a rtw - it was really interesting.
Might be worth you watching them on 4OD if you havent already seen them.
£100 a day seems like a massive budget - but i suppse it depends what you plan on doing. But thats far more than me and my boyfriend will have xx
A few years ago I did a rtw trip for a year with my wife and family ( 2 adults and 3 children) we budgeted on about 150pounds a day at todays prices. so I'd say 100 a day is more than enough for the two of you. We split that down into roughly 50 a day for accomodation, 50 for living and 50 for travel ( including car hire some of the time) which worked out quite well.
One of the best decisions we made for the children was not to travel all of the time, they get fed up with packing up and moving on every couple of days. So we would alternate a couple of weeks traveling and then a couple of weeks staying put in a cheap out of season holiday home somewhere. These holiday homes were a good way of saving money as well.
Have a great time, it was the best year we've had as a family.
