Hi all,
Aah - Bristol. Or should I say (so as not to confuse the issue, with.. 'Aah - Bisto!) 'Ooh arr Bristol'. Some 600,000 locals who have an accent similar to that of The Wurzels.
Visitbristol.co.uk is a pretty good website with lots of info.
It's an OK city with plenty going on at weekends. Very close to some wonderful countryside too - and only a short trip to Wales as well.
It's airport has plenty of budget flights travelling to many parts of Europe - and Temple Meads Station (one of the UK's largest) has direct services to right across the UK.
You won't have any problems finding work. It's a university city and there are plenty of opportunites, both full and part time.
All in all, you could do a lot worse than Bristol.
My friends have both just moved over there and they love it, it did take him a few weeks to find a job, but he was looking within the trade industry.. I'm sure it would be easy enough to pick up a job in hospitality or shops, especially coming up to christmas! And they always seem to have some gig to go to, and reasonably cheap (specifically electronic music artists, with gigs for less than £20!)
Goodluck with it anyway!
