Chaing Mai

Hey Everyone,
I am looking for a bit of info on Acccommodation in Chaing Mai. I have travelled south of Bangkok a number of times but never been up north. Does anyone have info on a place they stayed before and enjoyed? Also is there any particular treks or trips you would recommend? Fit, healthy and looking for an adventure! I'll be in Chaing Mai in June.
Thanks a mill

Not been yet, but I've booked into Spicythai in September. Good reviews plus they organise trips. Its a former US Ambassadors house too so should be good!
Theres also a trek in Pai which is nearby, heard thats worth it!

It's helpful to advise what your accom. price range is. Some people enjoy staying in a 400 baht room whilst others stay in a 2000 baht room. For accom. reviews see tripadvisor.com

On past visits I've been on a 1 day elephant riding/river rafting which I enjoyed, the 1 day Golden Triangle Tour which I found interesting but it was a long day. Last year I did the Flight of the Gibbon Experience which as great as I had not done that sought of thing before. Many travellers go on 3-4 day trekking trips out of CM. I'm sure there are many travel blogs on websites by people who have been on these treks. Enjoy your trip.

Right now, there is a bit of a mystery in Chiangmai. It seems to center around the "Downtown Inn" and the nearby night market. IMHO, these might be places to avoid until this thing is hammered out.

you can compare hotel prices and facilities with an online hotel comparison like [snip] or [snip] and they are many. i gave an example i use for my travels and it helped me so much by saving money and time.. good luck!
