I am planning to spend a week of so on Zanzibar in October. Do you know what the weather is usually like this time of year? I would also like to do some scuba diving whilst on the island. I have my PADI advanced open water licence so would just be looking to rent gear and go out on a boat with some fellow divers. Any ideas what the cost of this would be per dive?
Are there any camping facilities on the island? As I am backpacking around for a few months I am looking to save cash whenever possible. Would you know what the typical living costs are like on the island i.e. food, transport, accommodation, etc.

Zanzibar is not a cheap place...But surely you can keep your costs down by staying in cheap guesthouses and eat local food.
I guess you can get bye on this Island for around 50$ a day...That dosent include any activities
Diving...You cannot rent equipment on zanzibar and go of with some friends..nobody will rent you the gear.
Diving is done through the diving centres...You can check out there prices on the internet.
The weather in October should be ok...For sure you are not going to be cold.
There are no camping facilities on Zanzibar that I am aware of...
