Dear all Travellers guru,
I'm planning to travel 10 days to 3 countries including brussel to Stockholm and end at copenhegen.
When are you going? These countries are now coming into winter which can mean very cold with snow and ice.
Europe has lots of cheap airlines which can be booked online and with not too much time, you don't want to spend hours and hours on a bus.
Seems to me that you should end the trip in Stockholm since you'll be passing through Denmark on your way to Sweden. If I were going, I'd use the train since the train ends in the city centers of all of those cities. Copenhagen is one of my favorite places - a walker's paradise. I do agree with Cyberia - spring or summer would be far nicer in those northern countries. I've been in Copenhagen in winter, and many attractions are closed for the season.
MunOnBoard,
If you are into modern architecture, when you are Copenhagen, go over to Malmo in Sweden. It's a half an hour trip on the bus. It takes you through on the largest and most impressive bridge in Europe. In the "outskirts" of Malmo, visit the modern town hosting, amongst many amazing modern buildings and design, the famous Turning Torso.
Copenhagen also has some of the best architecture in the world.
I also recommend taking the tourist boat along the canals and visiting the famous and unique "Christiania".
Brussels for eating out: beside the center (which is very lively at night), you can find charming restaurants in the area of Rue de Bailli (near Avenue Louise) and in the mix of belgian/african area along Chaussee d'Ixelle.
In the center of Brussels, be aware that pickpockets are very common, especially tourists are targeted. So be carefully with anybody who would go and ask for direction or time...
Otherwise, it is a very safe town.
Have a nice trip!
thanks guys!
i feel its quite difficult to jump to sweden, so what about i change my plan to
amsterdam - brussels -luxemburg and end at frankfurt. would it be o.k to travel by bus thru all those countries. coz i guess, train is so expensive for backpacker like me.
