If you would like to visit Kazakhstan someday, i can provide some assistance regarding cities, places to stay, prices etc.
Ok first of all Kazakhstan has almost no tourism infrastructure and you must be prepared that you'll have to plan your trip with extra care and you can see a lot of things that you might find disturbing/unpleasant.
Second: Kazakhstan is generally safe place with some exceptions(Shanyrak, Shymkent etc.): with some basic precautions it is not an issue at all.
Third: Astana looks lovely on pictures but in actual fact Astana is a very boring, extremely pretentious and frighteningly silent city. Almost free of people, just like a ghost city.
What Kazakhstan has to offer? : Natural beauty(Charyn Canyon, Sand deserts, caves and so forth), "Post-sovietique" charm.
