Hey, I'm starting my travelling journey and wondering what advice anyone has to give about Albuquerque or San Francisco. I can fly to both of these destinations, so getting there is not an issue. I'm curious about public transportation there, good places to eat, and in general just getting around, or any other tips When I visit, I'll probably fly in, walk around/explore for the day, and then depart back to cold Minnesota either that night or next morning.
The trolley cars are a good way of getting around San Francisco. The city is of course built on hills so walking around can be hard work as some streets are quite steep, though the waterfront area is flat. It's quite a big town so a car can be handy but remember to park into the kerb so your car don't roll downhill.
I'd stay there some days in the sun instead of rushing back home.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Albuquerque, its a great place if you're wanting some culture. Theres a strong Native American presence as well as Hispanic cultures. This is often reflected in the dining choices you'll come across. Theres plenty of free or very cheap activities/attractions around the city centre and there is a good bus system to help you get around
In Albuquerque, be aware that the old town area is just west of the primary downtown area--and you really should try to get to the "old town" to enjoy the city.
