It has been years since I was on Phi Phi, but reading blogs it is just over run with tourists. I think you will have a better beach experience on a less visited island. Here are of lesser known islands in Thailand.

Dave..Phi Phi has changed a lot..you will never find huts or anything similar to that..it was now well built to attract tourists. You can explore the total island if you hire an individual boat.

thats a shame that its all built up now it has been 5 years since i was last there so i guess things were bound to change!!
i do really want to find some other islands that havent really been built up and not over toursty (if thats a word!) but i know its going to be hard now!!

have just checked out some of the places in koh jum and it looks amazing im def going to be heading there!! just gotta work out the best way to get there from either phi phi or Krabi!!
have u been there before then? any bungalows you can recommend at all?

Dave,
No recommendations. Read a on Koh Jum and decide what is the best spot for you. It seems a long tail boat comes out to meet the ferry and they take you to the bungalow you choose.

yea there not huts theyre bungalows. usually have no ac .. maybe a fan and maybe it works. bugs... but this is constant all over SEAsia. humm no access to a pool. i would pay for the ac on phi phi its worth it. uhmmm try.. pp anita? dont remember the name but something like that and you can find it on the web.
