Hi ..
I guess it only depends on how long and how far you´ll be travelling each day. In my case I bought a Rucksack as big as possible but small enough to have it onboard of an airplane as cabin luggage.
Regarding the weight it also depends on your build and strenght, though modern Trekking Rucksacks do a great job on optimizing the weight distribution to minimize the impact on the body. Try to pack as light as possible though, because if you travel a lot, you´ll be thanksful for every gramm of weight you don´t have to cary around...
It's easy to travel indefinitely via hotel/hostel through warm countries with a 40 litre backpack with lots of room left over, so for my style of travel yes, your 60 + 15 litres is waaaay too big.
Different strokes...
Cheers,
Terry
I agree with Terry. I did a 'trial run' travel experience before travelling the world for a year. I learned very quickly that a 70 litre bag is too big! I have written a blog post on it, if you are interested in reading about it. But basically, whatever size bag you have, you will fill it and then you're at risk of injuring yourself and limiting yourself with what you can do. It doesn't matter how long you are away for. You just have to really think about what is essential. It might seem difficult but it will be worth it. Travelling light gives you so much freedom! Remember, you can buy stuff as you travel and will need to if you are going away for a long time.
Let me know if you want the link to my blog post.
Good luck!
Teresa.
