when i go to aus im thinking to save more cash when out there is to tent on beach has anyone done this befor? or camp anywhere out the way?
Tenting on beaches is frowned on in most places. Unless you can find somewhere isolated.
Accommodation in Australia is generally fairly expensive but try hostelbookers, hostelworld and the like.

Depending on where you're travelling you might be able to pitch a tent on the beach. A couple of camp grounds I've been to especially in SA have basically been on the beach, Lipsons Cove and Fitzgerald Bay are two that come to mind. On the east coast in general tenting on the beach would be frowned on, but there are several national park camp grounds just behind the first dune such as Black Rocks in Bundjalung National Park and Red Rock in Yuraygir National Park. You can actually pitch your tent on Stockton beach, but be careful where you camp because 4x4s and motor bikes frequent the beach and you don't want to get run over.
There's a really nice campground at Wineglass Bay in Tasmania (at least there was 7 years or so ago). A couple of steps from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Seriously, it's an amazing spot.
When we went, there was only one other tent there (admittedly, not peak season or anything, but not the middle of winter either)
There are plenty of other great campsites around the place. There's nice camping at Wilson's Prom (Victoria). I know of nice campsites along the Great Ocean Road as well. A lot of these spots don't cost anything (or very little). You won't necessarily be able to put your tent ON the beach, but there are lots of nice grassy campsites right NEXT to beaches. And inland you can find lots of camping spots next to creeks in forests, etc as well.
