Where to stay in LA

We will be staying in LA for 1 week in mid July. We will rent a VRBO, and need to decide between Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. The thing is, we eat kosher food and all of that is near B.H. If we stay in S. M., we will need to drive each evening to Pico-Robertson to eat, so I am thinking it might be better to stay in B. H., which is near P.R. and just go visit Santa Monica for a day. Looking for feedback. Thanks

It's seems to me you answered your own question.

If you want a huge choice of kosher restaurants then Pico-Robertson is where you'll want to be, so staying close to there would make sense, no?

Cheers,
Terry

The Standard!

What about the Brentwood neighborhood? Anyone have thoughts about it?

What about the Brentwood neighborhood? What do people think?

Brentwood is a nice neighbourhood too.

As for your eating restrictions... just Google it, kosher is covered very well. You can easily decide if there's enough choices for you.

Cheers,
Terry

BH is urban, Brentwood is suburban and SM is suburban beach. They're all right next to each other - seems to me it doesn't make much of a difference. I would choose Santa Monica because there is more to a vacation than just eating kosher! By the way, there is Kosher food in other parts of LA (Sherman Oaks/Encino for one - an excellent Deli on Ventura Blvd. - in the San Fernando Valley where I grew up!)

BH would be good if you like nightlife - next door to W. Hollywood's Sunset Strip. I dislike the posh "feel" of BH, myself, but many women like the shopping on Rodeo Dr.

Brentwood is basically a wealthy suburb next to Bel Air and SM - Ronald Reagan, formerly, and many celebrities call that home!
