Hi, me and my partner are leaving the uk on 28th July heading for Bangkok to travel Thailand then Vietnam,Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines not in that order were just going to play it by ear then of to Australia for December- April then back to Thailand to stay for the last 4 months. We don't want to cut ourself off from other travellers as were going as a couple and both hope to meet some new friends on our journey will this put people off traveling with us?
Lots and lots of tourists about then, despite it being low season because of the monsoons in Asia.
when you fly to the Philippines.. make sure you fly to Boracay for its powdery soft white beaches, or to the enclosed lagoons and white beaches on Palawan island (plus the Underground river)...
Also try to see the centuries old Banaue Rice Terraces in the highlands of Luzon... you can also visit the beautiful and scenic volcanoes of Mt. Mayon, Taal, and Mt. Pinatubo... you can even swim in the crater of Mt. Pinatubo... while Taal is one of the most scenic and unique land formation you may see..
You can also fly to Bohol island to see the Chocolate Hills and the tarsiers...
You can check the historical places of the Philippines in Manila and Cebu... the oldest cities and the main gateways to the country
the Philippines is a bit off-the-beaten tracks of backpackers and you can still find more secluded and virgin islands and beaches in its 7000+ islands...
