Hey guys
Check on the weather for times you plan to visit countries.
Hey it bad idea to stop goign on work unless you are so rich to roam. ANy way that's ur personal matter.
Roaming the whole worl watching beautiful destination is always the fantasy of people and its good to get invlove in new culture. See new place new people and new custom tradatision.
Check out all the things and plan accordingly..
Two years is a long time in traveling terms if you are not working and the cost will be high.
I am assuming you wouldn't be venturing into world travel without looking at the cost, if you haven't start thinking seriously about it.
For our 12 month travel I started with a spreadsheet entering all the countries and towns/cities and the days spent there and cost per day.
Add to this the air, train, ferry, bus cost accommodation and approximate spend cost for site seeing and spending money.
Visa costs per country check out the embassies for cost and where you can get the Visa, These can be quite costly,
If you intend working check out requirements for the countries you intend working in.
Add to this inoculations, injections, tablets you may need to take, see a healthcare professional about this.
Add medical insurance.
Check out rtw tickets vs diy flight tickets, vs travel agent deals.
All this should be loosely costed.
Start off with the above and then do tons of research.
We travel 3 to 4 months per year now but next December are starting a 6 month RTW
trip to celebrate my 70th birthday.
We have been traveling since the 1960s and travel as changed so much it's much easier now.
Best of luck
Oh yes forgot to say
check out climate and weather this is very important.
Which forum rule did the original poster breach with his blog link? That act of moderation has taken away all the fun here in seeing where he planned to go!
...particularly annoying when all the spam oneliner posts are left in!!
Which forum rule did the original poster breach with his blog link?
I didn't moderate this one, but:
3. NO website postings for promotional purposes are permitted. If the postings are genuine responses to questions, we will permit them. Any website postings that look like they are only there to promote a website rather than help other members will be removed.
And it's really the "promotional" word that's key there. If the poster's intent with posting is to promote something, we don't want it. In this case, the poster itself is obviously not a spammer, so instead of removing the entire reply, just the links were snipped and the link to the forum rules inserted - in the hope to educate the poster, so that he won't make the same mistake again with further posts.
As for the oneliners: I agree! The problem here is that a percentage of them might actually be genuine posts from well-meaning users who just are very bad at English. There's no forum rule they're breaking, and although I've done some pushing on it in the past, Sam and Peter so far haven't deemed it necessary yet to create a forum rule against them, so it's hard for us moderators to take action on these posts. I do delete the occasional reply in that category in the Australia & New Zealand forum, when they're overly blatantly not at all related to the topic at hand and when no one has replied to them yet; but I really don't want to tread into the grey zone there without solid backing from the admins.
If you feel strongly enough about those useless oneliner replies to want to argue that there should be a rule against them, please start a thread for it in the System Talk forum so it can be discussed!
Hey thanks for your advice, I included a map of my trip so you can tell me something about the route but now this wont be possible sadly
