printing itinerary

I want to print itinerary ..how do I do this?

maybe you can find a copy machine and print it? can you be more specific? what exactly the problem is?

Do you mean the itinerary for ? There isn't really a great way to do this that I'm aware of. The nicest view I think for printing is if you open it up in your Planner first. This link should work I think: . But even then, when printed it's not super, and of course the map isn't included that way. If you just want the map the best way currently is to take a large screenshot. I just did that with your map and uploaded it if you want to save that image. I can also send you a link to the larger version of this image if you want that.

When you're looking at your itinerary in the planner, you can use the browser's Print function (File > Print) . It will be specially formatted for printing.

Let me know if there's anything specifically missing from that view which would be good to add. I'd like to improve the print layout /options at some stage, but for now it should at least get your itinerary on paper!

HI,

1. Having the entire http://www etc etc looks a little odd.

2. Maybe - have it only print the details if a trip stop is not collapsed. In other words, WYSIWYG the print. A lot less paper to carry.

3. Maybe provide the ability for the user to choose what prints.

4. In the course of a day, there might be several things to consider. A car to the airport, the flight, a taxi, a tour etc. Being able to enter times to all that would be nice to have & to be able to print.

The urls aren't really complete without the http://www . Leaving it out would make them useless.

Choosing what to print is I think the key thing here. That would be the right improvement to make. As it is, I don't think printing just what is visible is the right behaviour. That would mean having to go through a potentially very long trip and expand everything prior to printing which would be a very time consuming process.

For things to do during the day, the current solution would be to add notes with the times for each of these. Notes are included in the print out. A nicer structure for that may be worth considering though.

.

True - but those urls are awful long.
If I were on a trip with the print of the Itinerary, I would never get around to typing it all.

On the planner view I see www.hollandamericadotcom

but on the print I see all this from here-http://www.hollandamerica.com/main/Main.action? message=login&username=&emailRedirectURL=%252FmyAccount%252FAnnouncements.action-uptohere

On my print preview, the url is even clickable which surprised me. I doubt I would think to go to the print view to get to a website.

I think if you decided to save the itinerary as a PDF when printing, then those links would still be clickable. On the planner view for web we can of course show the domain only and still have the link go to the right place. But when printing, this doesn't work. You either need the direct link to the page or no link at all. Giving users the option to choose what things to print would include the option of excluding the bookmarks which I think is what you would really want in this instance.

But at this stage, without that option in place, I don't really see any choice but to include everything. Better too much information than too little basically.

Very true
