After the ramble I posted earlier today about whether I should get a Thai tourist visa or not, I have decided not to bother getting one and instead just book an outward journey from Thailand so I won't get denied entry.

Thai Immigration can ask for an onward ticket, but they usually don't. If you still feel you need an air ticket out, I suggest flight to PNH. Cheap and you are going to visit Cambodia anyway. Or fly into HAN and work your way back to Tland overland. That would be my suggestion. That way you avoid backtracking. If you fly into VN, you can buy a VN visa on arrival online. covers my experience flying into SGN. Price has changed, now $45 stamping fee instead of $25. Very straight forward and usually cheaper than buying it in your home country. If you choose to visit Cambodia or Laos first, buy your VN visa while in PP or Vientiane. Malaysia, Laos, Hong Kong, Singapore are best countries around Thailand where we can go from Thailand to enjoy our trip. These are wonderful place and hope you will have nice time there.
There are many place you can go either it's Malaysia Singapore India madlive or china and Hongkong Asia has many great destiantion. Close to south asia these countries are good.
