Hey ya'll - heading to Hawaii this week and again in Jan '14. Would like to make my own 'stargazing' excursion in a 4x4 to the best spots.
If you've gone all the way to Hawaii, you might as well spend a bit more and take a proper tour, to the telescopes, etc at Mauna Kea rather than do it yourself and maybe get a very second class experience. Regardless of how hot it is below, it can get COLD that high, so do wrap up well.
