Snow and very cold arnt realy ideal ! If youve done the trip or know any good links for us to reaserch please share
You are much more likely to get help on a bike forum such as - http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewforum.php?f=16
Will be doing some bike touring myself next year - heading to Denmark first and just following the coastline til I get bored Good luck
Hey,
I think there isn't much difference (concerning the temperatures) whether you choose to cross the Alps in Switzerland or France (assuming the alternative would be reaching Italy by southeast France). Every year is different, some years we have a lot of snow in Easter and then other years there is no snow at all, so the situation stays difficult to predict. But unfortunately, some higher passes between Switzerland and Italy (for example, the Great St Bernard) stay closed sometimes until late May or early June. But i think it's better if you try to get information about the passes closer to the departure date! In case you'll be crossing Switzerland maybe can help you
This seems to be a very interesting trip. Wish you the best of luck
