Hello, I'm Jo, 23 years old and I'm looking to go travelling August 2014 for about a year. I will be jacking in my job and booking a multi-stop round trip: UK>Dubai>Bangkok>Sydney>Christchurch....Auckland>Melbourne>Kuala Lumpa>Dubai>UK
So am thinking of spending the first couple weeks of August in Dubai then heading over to Thailand for 2/3 months before Oz! So if your going to be heading Bangkok Aug/Step 2014 get in contact-

Im stacey, 26 , living in south wales . Ive joined this forum for exactly the same reason
I was originally heading to south east asia for 3 months in may 2014 then onto australia. My friend has recently pulled out of our booking for this trip . I still have my heart set on it so have decided to plan it solo. I have had to cancel my original booking and delay my trip for a couple of months to save even more. I myself am planning on heading around August 2014.
At this point I am unsure on my new route. I am a bit nervous about heading to asia on my own (my family more so) I am either going to take the plunge and head to asia as originally planned (which would be perfect with a travel companion)

I have just booked a tour in asia for 25 days in august and then will be traveling South east asia for about 4 weeks after before i head of to australia on a WHV. I will be travelling alone and am a bit nervous as I have never done anything like this before. I have booked a one way ticket and have not planned much apart from the tour and to make sure i am in koh phangan for the full moon party in september. Feel free to contact me if you are going to be around the area at the same time would be good to meet new people :-)

Hi Stacey and Jodi, thankyou for your replies! I am thinking of arriving in Aug and doing a 10 day tour called Ultimate Thailand which costs about £500, what tour have you booked Jodi and what is the price? I have also planned to be at the full moon party on 8th Sep! The tour I have looked at Stacey, picks you yup from the airport and provides accomodation, some food for 10 days and means you wont be on your own on the first week, you will be with people who are most likely also as nervous as we all seem to be! I would have suggested flying together but the ticket I am hoping to buy next month includes a stop at Sydney first :/ where are you both going to in Australia? I am hoping to moved on from Asia to Sydney for the new years eve fireworks! Stacey, I think you should take the plunge... I was meant to go with my bf in 2015 but we have recently broke, then one dayI just woke up and thought that there is nothing stopping me going on my own! Jo x

when are you both gunna be in sydney? i dont really have a plan just gunna go with the flow.

I have booked the indochina Tour with contiki, it is a 25 day tour starting on 10th aug and which travels to Thailand, Laos, cambodia & finishes in Vietnam, it has cost £2570.00 but it includes internal flights, meals (breakfast everyday and some lunch and dinners), accomadation for the 25 days and activities/sight seeing, they also do the same tour but split so its not for as long and only for one or two countries but is def worth a look :-). My tour will finish on 3rd september and then i was going to get a sleeper train an boat to Koh phangan and stay at a place called the beach village backpackers hostel for the run up to the fullmon party. Have you decided where you are going to be staying for the fullmonn party yet? I have reviewed alot of places to stay and this one seems to be the best and cheapest i have found :-)
I was then going to maybe get my scuba diving lisence in Koh tao after the fullmoon party and then just wing it until my flight to sydney on 29th sep where i will be doing the oz intro for a week and then again wing it and start looking for a job.
I was kind of the same i had planned to go with people and then have been let down many times over the years and finally decided im going on my own, although now that it is only 7 months away until i leave i am starting to get very nervous :-) but cant wait
Stacey you should def take the plunge and do it, i have booked my tour so it gives me enough time to get to know people and get used to being in a different country before i set of on my own, its is def worth looking into :-)

How long are you planning on staying in australia for? are you planning on working while you are there??

Hi Jodi, probably for a year and then possibly stay for the 2 year also.
Yeah im not sure how hard it is to find work over there.
