Hi, my names Sarah. In November I'm moving from Australia to England for a 2 year working holiday and I won't know anyone, or anything about it really, when I get there. I was wondering if anyone on here would be willing to help me out with a few things like the best places in England and surrounding areas, cheap ways to explore, best ways to meet new people etc.

Where in England will you be based?
One easy way to make friends is to join free clubs via a website called Meetup. Most towns and cities have some now - either general social ones or specific themes like walking.
Nicest places in England: for my money, the Lake District, York, Bristol, Cornwall. Scotland is must-see, and Wales has lots to see with the best bits being Snowdonia.
We're VERY well served with cheap flights, an hour or two to all of Europe, often for as little as £100 return. Pretty much any European capital is worth a weekend break.
