Dutch guy going Asia

Hi you all,

Hi, I'm Faith, 21 years old I'm also leaving for Asia as soon as I graduate! I'll spend a couple of month volunteering in an island in Thailand and then, from May, I intend to travel around...I absolutely want to visit Bangkok and other places in Thailand for your same reasons, and then I was thinking of visiting Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam...you should include them in your itinerary as well! From what I read around blogs, some places in these countries are really stunning!

Hi Faith,

Cool, what kind of volunteering are you going to do?

Yeah, the countries you mentioned must be great. I think I will visit at least a few of them. Would be great to sail a part of the Mekong-river!

I'm going to volunteer with animals: dogs and cats abandoned or mistreated... I will be on the island of Koh Lanta From there I also want to go and spend a couple of days on the (in)famous Ko Phi Phi...I know it's probably overrated but it's worth a visit The Mekong delta must be beautiful! And I'm so jealous you get to go to Japan! Sadly it's too expensive for my budget

Sounds like a really cool plan mate !
I should be around Thailand,Vietnam,Cambodia around July (Fingers corssed!)
You should definitely check out Nepal,I just came back from there it was awesome!

@Faith
Good you're helping those animals. Koh Phi Phi, I think I will go there too, maybe touristy, but looks beautiful. I think I will spend the most time on Koh Tao, to get my diving PADI. Yeah, Japan is a lot pricier than SEA, but not more expensive than US or western Europe, so I think I will make it with 50 euros a day.

Have fun!

@Yo Sam!
I saw some pictures of Nepal, looks great. Seems like best weater conditions are now, so you must have seen amazing views! When oct/nov hits next year, I will certainly think about going there.

You're from Bangladesh I see. Would you recommend visiting your country?

Hope you make it to travel in July!

Hey man !
Yeah,the views were breathtaking! October is a good time to visit Nepal it's right after the monsoon season.They celebrate the festivals there around that time which can be a very unique experience.You should definitely head out there if you got some time
And Bangladesh can be a very different and unique experience for you,if you're up for it,in terms of being touristy,it's not.
I always found the cultural aspects,hospitality,history of Bangladesh very overwhelming,The capital Dhaka can be hectic,but enjoyable if you know what you want to do and some of the things here are very unique.You can always head out south-east to go to Cox's Bazaar known as the world's longest beach or south-west to the Sundarbans the biggest mangrove forest and home to the Royal Bengal Tiger or North west to enjoy some tranquility in the tea gardens up in the hills.
What you should know- Bangladesh still is a developing country,while you can get all sorts of modern facilities here a decent sum of people here are still living under poverty line.The amazing fact is that they will always smile,be very hospitable often be curious,very less materialistic and satisfied bunch
Cheers !

Thanks Sam,

Great that the best views and festivals are in the same period!

Bangladesh woud be quite an experience than I think. At the moment I'm not sure I'm up to it yet, but after a few more months travelling experience I think I will. Your description sounds great!

Greets,
Daan
