A very substantial portion of Planet Earth is relaxed, remote and hot all year round.
There's endless considerations that are way more important for narrowing down your search... Is English important? How about high speed internet? Are you picky about food? Need high end medical services? What's your definition of "remote"... is it 1 hour, 12 hours, 1 day or 1 week from an international airport? What kind of culture... Latin?... Asian?... African?... The prerequisite list goes on and on...
Good luck with your research, but to me it sounds like you simply need to get out and do some travelling.

I'd say somewhere in the Pacific is going to tick all those boxes pretty easily. But yeah, anywhere along the equator is hot all year round. So you just need to narrow down a few things like budget and language as Terry suggests and you might get more specific answers.
I think I am looking for people's opinion on their own favourite spot and why it is the case really rather than impose my own conditions, mainly as I don't really know what those conditions are!

Well in that case, my nomination is an island somewhere in the Pacific.
In that case I'll stick with my original suggestion of simply getting out and doing some actual travelling so you can discover your own personal likes/dislikes and form your own opinion of what makes the perfect wish list of prerequisites for the best final spot.
