CHIANG MAI AND AROUND

Heading towards Chiang Mai this evening and wondered if anyone is around that area that is also travelling alone or even with people?
Be cool to meet up.
Never the less, anyone know of any good hostels to stay in around this area? Preferrably cheap as i am on a budget ha!
