Have you tried Homwaway, I stayed 6 weeks this past summer August into September and found something very reasonable 1500 for the entire 6 weeks in a gated community
never ever try to search for the apartments in Dominican Republic online.
just go there, search for the options in real and choose your apartment...
starting price for some decent apartment with "gastos" - commodities is around 8,000-10,000 DOP which means = around 200 USD/ month
Thank you, I found a very nice 5th floor walk up in the capital last year for 1500 USD for 6 weeks and it was very nice and is still my gall back but I would like to be out of the capital this year!

I felt it was ok, given the cable TV, electric Internet and security were included. I have looked at some apartments with no internet, cable TV, hot water or electricity and those things are important to me but if I can find them in a decent neighborhood for a better price it would be great!

yes, I'm in Las Terrenas now and I pay for my apartment 230 usd/ month. Fast net, electricity 24~, also cable TV and kitchen and so on.
I dont security as we feel safe here in our building :-)
