ETA visa renewal

hi guys

Hi,

An ETA is only good for 3 months & there does not appear to be any way to extend it.

Click on the FQA section of this link & then click "I am planning a holiday for more than three months in Australia. What should I do?" and you will see you have to apply for a different visa to stay longer than 3 month.

That link also has an "ETA Contact Information" button for you to ask them your questions.

Hi,

I have just applied for & received my E Visitor Grant ( not the same as your ETA, but similar ) and it has this info on it

>>>>Maintaining a valid visa
Your visa allows you multiple entries to Australia until 02 December 2015. You are allowed
to stay for a period of 3 month(s) on each arrival.
It is important to take note of these dates. You will need to leave Australia or make alternative
arrangements with the department before this date or you will become unlawful. If you think
you will not be able to depart Australia by the date your visa expires, you should contact the
department as soon as possible. <<<<

My take on that is that I could arrive in Australia next Monday, stay for 3 moths less a day, leave for a day and go back for a further 3 months less a day & so on til 2nd December 2015.
Maybe that applies to you too, maybe not.

Note also the last sentence - I suggest in your case you do that.

P.S - total lunacy having to leave for a day of course, but that's bureaucracy for you

Steve
