India & Sri Lanka

Hey!

Hi

Seems realistic. We had ten days in Sri Lanka and had time to see everything we wanted to. And while I've not yet been to India, when I researched it I figured on the golden triangle in about a week. But it does depend on your pace of travel.

Hi,

Delhi - 3 Days (Been there 4 Times)
Agra - 4 Days (3 Times)
Jaipur- 4 Days (2 or 3 can't recollect)

This can be coverd in lesser days, it depends on you.

Delhi- (GET A MAP)

Backpackers Area - Paharganj
Take Prepaid taxi from the Airport or METRO to Paharganj & don't take the 3 wheeler Taxi or other

taxi since they might Charge you more (Ask anybody for help if you need any)

Shopping & Food - Connaught Place
Sight Seeing - http://goindia.about.com/od/cities/tp/top-delhi-attractions.htm
Try North India food like Aloo ka pratha, Paneer batter masala etc.

Transportation within the City -
If you want to travel within the city to see the attraction, You should opt for

Metro since it's fast & connecting & when you enter the Metro move to the ladies side for

comfortability.
if you are using Rickshaw, than alway pay by meter & they have card from which they get the exact fare.

Transportation to AGRA

Agra is not very far from Delhi (4-5 Hours) thus there are too many Bus/Private cars available from

poor to best depends who comfortably you want to travel. Advise you not to take the train cos the stations is over croweded & chaotic (for a foreigner).

Site - http://www.redbus.in/ (Volvo A/C buses available with luggage cabins)
P.s - Please avoide public bus since it's gets very crowded & you might not fit in with the luggage.

Agra-

Agra-TG-C-1.html

Backpackers Area -
Fatehabad Rd. Sadar Bazaar, Taj Ganj
Transportation to these places applies the same as Delhi..

Shopping & Food-
You will find many art emporium, sales while you are traveling (Try & Bargain most of the time)

Transportation within the City -
3 wheeler Taxi etc
Fathepur Sikri- Better not to take an organised tour as you will not have enough time to explore the area, but i suggest that you take a bus from the Idgah bus stand in Agra, and the journey will take 75 minutes and cost around 20-30 Rps. Buses depart every 30 minutes from 7am-7pm, and of course the last one back is also at 7pm. Make sure you get a smaller bus that goes to Fatahpur Sikre town as the larger ones that go to Bharatpur will drop you off a kilometer from the entrance.

Jaipur

Backpackers Area/Budget Hotel -
Hotels - Pearl Palace, Arya Niwas, Umaid Bhawan (You can get the address online or please do little more research on this, little knowledge)
Best Forum - http://www.indiamike.com/

Transportation within the City - Same as above
Also try new modes of transportation like camel cart, cycle rickshaw etc.

It's going to be colour full & amazing & this time of the year the summer would start, so it might be somewhere 24 to 30 Degree.
