When passport holders from G-7 countries enter overland they now can get a free 30 day Visa Exemption stamp in their passport. (
You are supposed to have "proof of onward travel."
Fly in still free 30 days Visa Exemption if you are on the list and meet requirements.)

If you mean return to Thailand from Myanmar at a border crossing verify first if it can be done. When I was in Myanmar I just flew back to Bangkok. Some border areas might have restrictions. Eight - ten years ago I used the border at Chiang Rai for a border run. Not sure about present time.
