Making connection flight in Atlanta, GA

I will be flying during holiday time (early January) in family of 4 with children age 6 and 9.
We'll fly from Orlando to Jakarta via Atlanta and Amsterdam.
From Orlando - Atlanta we'll fly Delta, Atlanta - Amsterdam and Ams- Jakarta we'll fly KLM.

You'll have to go through customs in Atlanta. They won't let you go through customs prior to your final USA departure airport.

You should be able to check your bags directly from Orlando to Amsterdam--and they will have a place in Atlanta where you pick them up, take them through customs--and then drop them back off for routing to Amsterdam. One and a half hours is not enough time to make your connection if you also have to go through customs first. Contact the first airline you are flying on (from Orlando to Atlanta), explain to them the need to go through customs--and that you have small kids--and they will route you on an earlier flight out of Orlando to Atlanta that will allow you to make your connection.

Enjoy
