Hi all. Me and two friends are looking on how to get transport from Bangkok to Phuket. Can anyone recommend best transport either by bus or train? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lee.

There is no train from BKK to Phuket. I suggest the . You save one night's accommodation and arrive in the early am. Best time to go hunting for a room. I would take the last bus out of BKK. That gives you the whole day in BKK for sightseeing before heading for Phuket.
Several discount airlines fly BKK-HKT. or both fly for not much more than bus fare.
I would check here on TP to see what hotels/GHs are charging for rooms. Click on 'accommodation' top of this page. Find Thailand, then Phuket. Look at the 'budget hotel' option. See what is in your price range. Then look those hotels up on 'tripadvisor'. See what others said about that property. Now you will have a list of hotels/GHs in your price range.
