Freaking Out!!

Hi all,

I think it is normal. I freaked out before my first solo overseas trip. But once I got to my destination it was fine, everything falls into place, I realised how easy it was to travel alone - it was really liberating!

Maybe read your guidebook and get excited about all that lies ahead! I'm sure you'll have a brilliant time

Hi Shell,

I'm sure it's natural to freak out since it's your first time traveling. There are so many things you have to remember to do and bring. Once you reach your destination, though, you will see there was nothing to worry about. Enjoy your trip!

The unexpected is what makes international travel so much fun. Go down and get a good bottle of wine and chill out for a while. Now that we have this thing called the Net, you can easily get quite overwhelmed by reading all the scare posts. Look on the bright side, you've planned a really neat trip, you're going to have the time of your life, and you'll be meeting all sorts of new people too. You just need a little help calming those nerves - quite a common problem.

We're all creatures of habit to some extent. Non of us like having everything in our life turned upside down and travel will do that. But that's also what we enjoy and what makes us grow. The unexpected, the chance meetings, the things you'd never see or do in your everyday life. You'll come back a different person, or maybe you won't come back at all! Some people change so much or find themselves and realize their life up to this point has been going in the wrong direction. You just have to sit back and roll with it, take it in, learn from it.

I stil remeber my first solo travel. My first trip was to Europe ( France and England). The first country was France - paris and I didnt speak any French....

THen I realized that out of our small world there are nornal people the not ALiens. You will manage it and then wont stop traveling over and over again....That happened to me and now the more I travel, the more I want to go even further to the most exotic countries.....

Good luck
