Hi
Skukuza is the oldest, biggest and most established camp. But I guess it all goes by the type of experience you are hoping to have. Skukuza is like a little town in the park - it has a post office, shops etc. Accomodation ranges from basic to luxurious.
The other camps are smaller (varying sizes) and have different offerings with Skukuza being the best.
Hope this helps.
Hello,
Kruger National Park is a wonderful place to holiday. If you are looking for lots of game, including predators then the south of the park is where you need to be. There are 2 types of camps you can opt for - bush camps or the bigger "commercial" camps. The bush camps do not have shops, swimming pools etc BUT they are quiet, peaceful and usually occupied by people who love nature and the bush environment. On the south of the KNP there is Biyamiti Bush Camp, very nice commercial camps in the south are Berg en Dal and Lower Sabie...
The north of the park is much quieter but we think much nicer. The birding is very good up north, elephants are aplenty and the camps are great. Two excellent bush camps are Bateleur and Sirheni - on the "commercial" camp front you have a great choice between Punda Maria, Shingwedzi and Olifants.
In the middle of the park you have one of the most popular camps - Satara.
It really depends on how long you will be here for. If you are only here for a short time then I would suggest staying on the south side perhaps a few nights at Berg en Dal and a few nights at Lower Sabie. If only for a short while then Satara would be your best bet.
I hope this helps you....happy to give you more information if needed.
Thank you very much for the advice. Will let you know how it was when we return.
Kind regards
