Im travelling to thailand at the begining of Nov, i havent bought a ticket yet
For your info, the South China Sea is in Monsoon season from mid Oct to Mid Mar. Most resorts at this coast line are closed of Business.
For the island in Malaysia coast - Tioman, Sibu, Perhentian, , RedangKapas, etc, islands, the boat service stops Nov to Feb. There is only flight services to Tioman and Redang Islands.
For the coast in Thailand, they closed for Nov and Dec. However, there is ferry (big one) from Surat Thani to Koh Samui.
For the Andaman coast - Phuket, Krabi, etc should be ok. The monsoon does not affect this side as much.

On Phangan recommend you to stay not close to the party - Chao Phao or Woktum. You'll get good price for room and if hire the motorbike and easy go everywhere. Something like Jungle Hut in Chao Phao - stayed there before just for 700 THB in good room.
Hi there,
I'm Lauren, 26. Let me start by saying I was originally meeting a friend but the floods have changed EVERYTHING, now not meeting her after having planned this for a whole year, I still want to go but don't want to be there alone I've been twice before, love it there!
I've got a flight booked for tomorrow (31st Oct), will be in Bangkok till 1st - 2nd then flying to Ko Samui. I'm planning on going to Ko Phangan on the 5th/6thfor the FMP on the 10th, after that, pretty flexible, wanting to do the usual, Ko Tao, Phuket, Phi-Phi. I have a fair budget and planning on flying between islands to save time. I also have my PADI and would like to do some diving! Please get in touch as I'm probably not going to go without having someone to travel with.
