Hi Tom,
Is this something new you have just run into, or has the never worked for you (asking as I see you have some photos uploaded)? Basically you should be able to double click on the folders in the left panel, drilling down into deeper folders until it shows the photos on the right. Then you can select all the photos on the right using right click > Select All and ticking one of the pics.
