hi im planning to go to cebu this coming nov 20-24 alone
and im looking for someone who wants to travel as well.
I went to Cebu City last year and flew there from Manila. It's the second city of the Philippines and it's big and busy. You are only there for a few days but I strongly recommend visiting these places...
Museo Sugbo. For 135 years it was a criminal prison and only became a museum devoted to Cebuano history in 2007. There are four galleries each devoted to one of the four key periods of Philippines political history...pre-Spanish colonial, Spanish colonial, American from 1899, and WW2 liberation from the Japanese.
The Carbon Market. This has nothing to do with climate change but everything to do with food and meat and a myriad of other things some of which are very strange.
San Pedro Fort. An early 18th century triangular fort with lots of history and a nice garden.
The Crown Plaza building. This is a tall square building in the downtown area which is illuminated at night and has a blinking light on the apex. You can go right up to the top and have a ride on the world's first and only Edge Coaster which, well, I won't spoil the surprise. But it gives you an uninterrupted panorama over the city and is pretty scary too.
The Tops Lookout. This is well worth going to just before dusk. You get a fantastic view over the whole city and out to sea and, after night falls, which it does quickly, you will be taking photo after photo just as I did.
As to where to stay, that depends a lot on your budget and whether you want to stay uptown or downtown. I stayed at the Diplomat hotel in downtown which was squeaky clean with attentive and helpful staff and very modestly priced. Downtown is the older and more lively and more characterful part of the city wheras uptown is more expensive by far.
Have a great trip!!
