An opinion that requires reactions of course
Although I do agree that for you I guess Thailand would be better, there is a lot more in the Caribbean than fun, sun, beaches, turquoise waters, nightlife, cruiseships and all those other things.
But for that you need to have other interests, like nature, culture and willing to go to some different islands, even some which have no beaches.
I am going back to the Caribbean later this year, visiting other islands but also again the same one, because it is one of my favorites: Saba. But totally not for you I am afraid.
I have been to Thailand, but not to places like Koh Phangan, Phuket, Pattaya or Koh Samui, so can't help you with those places. They seem perfect for you though, and in general I liked Thailand, its islands, beaches, cities, people, food and culture. Cheap too!
Have fun!
Michael
I could just smell a one post guy, is all. I've never been to Thailand, to be truthful. And I love the Caribbean. My heart lives there....I just wish I could find the exact spot, so I could stop tossing about.

Last year our whole family has been to Thailand and we all had a great experience. It is an amazing place with lovely beaches. Bangkok is one of the great places to visit in Thailand. Here you can stay in a beach hut, enjoy elephant treks and spectacular beach views. So I definitely recommend you to plan a trip to Thailand.

I would certainly recommend revisiting the Caribbean.
However, you mentioned that you would like to travel to a tropical paradise. Why don't you take Belize - at once Caribbean and Central American - into consideration as a destination in your itinerary? From ancient Maya cities to mysterious underground dwellings, cascading waterfalls to flowing rivers, longest Barrier Reef to majestic Maya Mountains, lush rainforests to pristine beaches, complete with exotic native wildlife. Countless inland and island activities exist which allow one to experience both sides to the "Belizean Coin", so to speak.
Wherever you may choose to vacation, do enjoy!

You may also want to visit the Maya Riviera. This is area is south of Cancun. So you can always visit Cancun, Maya Riviera, Cozumel. There is a ferry from Play del Carmen t hat takes you over to to Cozumel. You would not have to keep hopping on and off a plane. The prices are very reasonable to go there as well. If you need any help booking this please feel free to contact me.
Hope this info finds you well

Rose

Going to Thailand in October, but Havana Cuba is one of the most fantastic cities i've been and is definitely not a common theme amongst the rest of the Carribean. Jamaica, different, rough, but very much worth the experience.
