Cycling the East Coast, what cities should i go to?!

Right, so i've just started planning to cycle down the east coast next year. Starting in Boston, and finishing in Miami. I want to travel mostly through urban cities and surroundings, not go too far out into the wilderness lol . Can anyone suggest any citites to travel through/stay in. I need as many as possible please i don't want to travel too far inland either. I do know that i want to see Washington though. Thanks.

SORRY I MEANT WEST COAST, DON'T ASK ME HOW I GOT THEM CONFUSED LOL. i want to start in Seattle and finish in San Diego. Sorry, thanks same question as above though.

That wont work because as soon as you are out of the Seattle Tacoma area theres nothing i'd call urban until you reach San Francisco 1000 miles southward.

I'm not sure how you can get them confused when you actually name two east coast citys, But i think that would be a better coast to cycle down anyway. Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Williamsburg, Nags Head, then inland to Ashville NC, Charleston SC, Savannah GA, St Augustine, Daytona and Miami.

On the west coast, I'd visit Victoria and Vancouver in Canada, then Bremington and Seattle in Washington, then Portland, Eugene (and/or Bend), and Grants Pass and Ashland in Oregon (or take the coast route). In California go through the Redwoods National Park, then to Mendocino, south along the Russian River and down through Ukiah and Sonoma to San Francisco. Then down to Carmel, the coast route to Morro Bay, past Pismo Beach, down to Los Olivos, then Solvang, then Santa Barbara, then Ventura, then Malibu, then Santa Monica, down to Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Dana Point, Del Mar and San Diego.

It's a great trip if you can do it all.

P.S. There is actually a bike race that goes through many of these towns in the summer. Can't remember the name of it right now, though.
