In August I am planning in visiting Asia for the first time. We are planning to got to China, Thailand and Laos. Is it easy to get around? Will people speak english?
I'd say if you'd go to China, except in Hong Kong, you will need to stay in a hotel that has English speaking people. Because you will need to ask them to write you in paper your destination for the day.. you'll use that to show your cab driver so that they'd know where to go because most taxi drivers in China do not speak English.. and it's hard to read words in Chinese if you don't know how to read properly...

I will probably have to stay in speak english hotels in every city I go right? so when I take a cab I can just give them thet note of where I want to go.
