Huay Xai to Xiang Kong by speedboat (4hrs for $US110)
Next day Xiang Kong to Muang Sing by bus (5 hrs)
Two days later Muang Sing to Luang Nam Tha by songthaew (2 hrs) then same day bus to Udomxai (4 hrs)
Next day bus from Udom Xai to Pak Beng (4 hrs) then same day speedboat to Luang Prabang ($us25 per head).
