i will be doing quite alot of snorkeling and diving on my travels, ..... i have some fins, they are quite big but i have a jalan 70 + 15 litre and will fit with enough room
but would it be worth takin them alot for the extra size and weight but i will get alot of use and have to rent often.....
......... not sure what to do ????
Always take your own fins/mask-always
Always take your own fins/mask-always
Why is that? I'm not saying I disagree with you but just wondering.
it really depends of:
1. how much laggage u can pull with u and how long would b your stay there
2. Frequency and lenth of dive-activities
3. how good (comfortable/ fitting u perfectly) is your equipment.
If ur going do watersports during whole the trip and your equipment fits u perfectly - yes, take it. If you can plan diving just part of time and be dry all the rest - u can take it and send after (with slow post by sea). If you have "some fins" - i'd not dare pull them.
Rental gear is always garbage and you won't be doing nearly as much snorkeling/seeing nearly as much if your mask leaks/is scratched or your fins don't fit and are blistering your feet.
Rental gear is always garbage.
oh nooo, not always! Rental gear vary beween garbage to new (talking from personal expirience). But definately need check it up before u going into water and change if it doesnt fit. I have ma own equipment and i prefer dive with it, but when i go over-seas (if longer then 5 hrs flight) I rarely take it with me but rent.
Even if it's new it's cheap-serious people don't use cheap poor fitting gear.
