nova scotia

Traveling by car from Kansas to the Atlantic Provinces, want some advice about things to see along the way and things to be certain to see in Nova Scotia

The whole Atlantic coast of NS is great to see, great nature/landscapes/cliffs etc. Definitely try to catch some of the fishereies culture around there. The Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg is recommended. Peggy's cove, touristy, but nice to see, and the more 'inland' Acadia is also quite nice to go. Don't exactly remember where it was, but I visited some open-air museum about the French/English immigrants to 'Acadia', which was quite interesting.

Either way... you'll probably enjoy Nova Scotia, as there's enough to see :D. Can't speak for the American Atlantic provinces, but I guess it must be a bit similar to NS.

Definately one of the highlights regarding scenery is the . Especially the route in the northern tip through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park is awesome (Cabot Trail). In season, there are great whale trips from Pleasant Bay.

Not sure how much time you have, but if you have a spare week, take the ferry to !

Cheers

Cape Breton is a definate must see place! The Cabot Trail is spectacular.

I would also recommend going to see Peggys Cove Lighthouse and surrounding area - near Halifax. It is one of my favourite places! Well worth a visit.

Enjoy you time there :o)
