Hi everyone! Wanting to go to Berlin in the next few months for the first time ever. I'm looking for suggestions on where to stay, what to do, etc. any help would be appreciated. thanks!
Any ideas on in what part of the city you want to stay? Near the center, in former east/west etc. Berlin has quite a range of budget-y hostels that are placed quite centrally or near public transportation. I quite liked staying at Pegasus hostel, which is in walking distance from the Ostbahnhof and 'near' the Alexanderplatz.
What to do... well, there's sooo much to see and do, so you'll probably have to select and make a list of must see's for your own before you go
Walking through the city itself, or just get a bus to tour the city is a nice start . There are many museums to visit, in a variety of interests, so... probably something for everyone's liking

Berlin is great! Good choice!
Of course the best area to stay in, is totally depending on what you like & require.
In the areas Mitte & Tiergarten you are right in the middle of most of the tourist attractions. It´s very central located, but it's more expensive than other parts of the city.
For example the Kreuzberg or Friedrichschain provide cheaper accommodation, but are more alternative compared to the other. If you like clubbing en partying, and care less about luxury, these areas are perfect to stay in.
If you would like to enjoy some rest, then Schöneberg will be the perfect place. It's a little outside the citycentre but has good connections with the centre.
What to do during your stay: Also that totally depends on your interests.
Personally I liked the Alexanderplatz and the Market in the Mauerpark. I am also interested in the world war etc. so I really enjoyed East Side Gallery, Jewish Museum and the impressive Holocaust Monument.
I recommend to do a city tour, because it's impossible to see and visit everything, but in this way you will get a nice overview of this beautiful city!
