Go to almost any travel site any day and there are people asking similar questions.
People from elsewhere see Australia as the land of opportunity, sunshine and beaches. Like everywhere else, it has unemployment problems and some who go there end up on a minimum wage doing very hard work and others end up going home after their money runs out, with no job.
Australia is not that cheap either. In your position I would like enough to survive on for three months at least (as well as an open ticket home). Even if you do manage to find a job, it will probably be a month before you get your first wages.
