Hi there,
Also, is there a way of having the map automatically zoomed in to a certain scale? I have added lots of places in India to my map, but to view them, one must zoom in every time..
Anyone?!
Hmm, not really sure why it's picking Mumbai there. Logic would indeed have it go to the latest stop you visited. We'll have to file that as a bug to look into.
The map at the top automatically zooms to incorporate the entire trip.
You can embed a zoomed in map in each entry by using the little "globe" icon in the editing toolbar. That brings up a map selection popup which will let you also select the zoom level of that map. Of course, having two maps on your page might be a bit much then though, so you might want to get rid of the map from showing at the top of all your pages and instead just use a zoomed in map on each entry.
Hope that helps a little.
Thanks for the reply. It seems that the map doesn't zoom in to my trip though, and is currently zoomed out as far as possible. Maybe I'll try creating another trip and see whether it was just a bug in this particular trip..
Nope, creating the same trip results in both the map not zooming in, and Mumbai still being displayed as the current location!
From looking at your trip, yes, it could be zoomed in one more level, and still show all the points. But I think it's probably in some border-line case that is causing it to go to the wider zoom level. Either way, it won't zoom in to the sort of closeness you're looking for.
From memory I believe it has to be set a bit wider because the map is not always shown at the same size and if it was shown too tight then in some situations (embed box being smaller), it would actually crop off the trip.
I also did a double-check on a small trip I had and it zoomed in a bit more as expected.
I solved the problem of the current location by the way. For reference, when I was entering the locations of where I'd been, I didn't go as far as the current day. By extending the 'leaving date' of the last location to today or later, the map updates itself to your last location.
Interesting. Good to know what solves it. Will definitely make finding a fix easier!
