Hey next year me and my girlfriend will be travelling to europe for around 9 months or so
first three months will be working in a pub with free accommodation.
Im just wondering are those top decks good value and fun ? and is it a pretty cheap way to travel
or would hostels and back packing be around the same amount??
Im mainly afraid it will be one of those controlling tours
I think going to hostels and backpacking wouldn't really make a lot of difference. They probably cost almost the same anyway. But I prefer backpacking because it's more fun and the entire adventure would be challenging.
My boyfriend and I did exactly the same thing last year! You will love it!
We mostly backpacked and used hostels on our travels because we didnt really know where we wanted to go. We booked all of our accommodation only a few days in advance once we decided what country we wanted to visit next. We found it great, cheap and easy and that way you get to talk to others in the hostels about where they have been and what you should see.
We also did a topdeck of Egypt which was fantastic! It was such a good way to do a country that we were a bit unsure of doing on our own.
The only problem I see with doing all topdecks is that if you want to stay in one place for longer or change your route your cant. They are also very controlling when it comes to leaving time in the morning and free time, although the benefit is that you get to see a lot of good places quickly!
Hope that helps!
If you have any other questions let me know!
