First time to Nepal

Dear Noel

Welcome to Nepal!

You sound like you are really working hard for your trip to Nepal. You will be more than strong enough for this trip. About the trekking via Phaplu, Junbeshi, Thupten Chooling & Chiwang is very beautiful area and mostly Sherpa village. Phaplu & Junbeshi has nice lodges. Thupten Chholing is a day trip from Junbeshi. Chiwang has also some local lodges but you can come down to Phaplu as well so it won't be much problem. I am from Junbeshi and grew up at Phaplu.

If you need any other info do not hesitate to contact me.
With regards
Mingmar

Thank You Mingmar!
It is nice to have this reassurance. I will be travelling with a group and we have lodging at Everest hotel in Junbesi (I think). I know we will be staying at the monastary and also doing some camping. I know the trekking will be challenging, but also so wonderful and beautiful. I'm mostly looking forward to meeting the Sherpa peoples. It will be a humbling experience and i'm looking forward to it!
If there is anything else you could recommend? I was wondering about the night temperatures...I have a sleeping bag that goes to 0 C and plan on bringing a liner for extra warmth...What are the day temps and nights like? We are going October 29-November 15. We will be going to the Mani Rimdu festival!
Thank you again
Noel from Toronto, Canada
