Lubd Hostels

Hey Travellerspoint. I was wondering if anyone could tell me something about the hostel called Lubd in Bangkok.

I stayed there in 2008 and it was wicked. Clean and comfy, very helpful staff and fluent in English.
They did lose my favourite t-shirt though

If it fits your budget, they're worth the cash.

Ooo, surprising, a reply from someone who is posting from the same place as the person asking the question. I'm leaving the original question up, and the reply which seems legitimate (the one by benl), but have to say any hostel which resorts to spamming forums and trying to trick guests into booking with them, must have some serious issues...

I stayed there in May 2011. New, comfortable & unique. I'd describe the best that I've ever stayed! Just a stone throw to the train station and very near to Jim Thompson silk house & Siam Paragon.

Cheers!

Lub D is 2 different places, one in Silom and one Siam area.

I suppose it is okay if you want to share toilets and showers with total strangers. One advantage is that you will also have access to the Skytrain.

In Bangkok you can still find private rooms starting around 600 - 800 baht. Probably a little higher closer to Christmas.

Below sample hotels are not far from restaurants, Skytrain, nightlife, malls, street vendors even supermarkets. Other cheap hotels in same Nana area.

Another hostel if you prefer them - Soi One Hostel (near Bumrungrad Hospital.)

Up to you.
