planning to go to australia

Obviously you need a work visa. However so many people travel to Australia each year looking for work that unless you have a needed skill, you probably won't find work or if you do it will be very hard work for very little money.

Time to go is Oct - Nov, when Australia is coming into summer and back home into winter. And book 4-5 months early to get a cheap flight. Southern Australia can get quite cold June to August. In recent years there has been a number of arson started bush fires in (their) summer there.

It is easy to travel around Australia by public transport though distances are such that flights should be considered for some journeys.

As I said to someone else recently, fly to Cairns and work your way down the east coast to Melbourne for starters. Not a lot in the center.

Pick up a Lonely Planet guide to Australia.

Ya I'm an registered nurse and am contemplating trying to snag a job before I go or not. I want some time to travel before I get tied down again. I will have enough funds to be fine but I might try to get a job and go a couple months before I start. Planning on January 2012. I was born in Australia do currently working on getting dual citizenship and get an Australian passport. If I do become a resident of Australia should I still get travelers insurance or medical??? Not sure how that all works yet. If anyone is needing a travel buddy, let me know.
