Advice for Krakow please

Craggy has indicated that this thread is about Krakow

Hi,

Since most of the attractions are situated in the centre - once you get there, it's all walking distance.. Besides the old town, the jewish quarter (kazimierz) and the former ghetto with the schindler's factory, most people take part in full or half day tours: Auschwitz-Birkenau, Wieliczka Salt Mines and Zakopane.

There is a convenient train connection between the airport and the centre, also a lot of tour companies to choose from if you prefer public transport. It's cheap, but you have to remembers about its bad sides.

Places worth visiting:

Old Town:
Metropolitan restaurant (Slawkowska st.)
Hard Rock Cafe (main square)
Harris Piano Jazz Bar (main square)
Lizard King (Tomasza st.)

Jewish quarter:
Kuchnia u doroty (miodowa st.) great value for delicious local food
Omerta (Kupa st.) you have to try 'Atak Chmielu' beer!

Great, thanks for the tips. I'll certainly be trying the Atak Chmielu! And that Harris Bar has been recommended before so maybe I'll try that.

Cheers!

Krakow has plenty of restaurants and bars from luxurious to "inexpensive". Even in the area of the Old Town you can find good deals (full dinner for about 15 PLN - about 4 Euros).

But being already in Krakow you may also chose at least once something more stylish and really representative for this Medieval City.
